Sigmund,

Well said. People in high public office must be held to a higher standard because their actions, public AND private impact the
fabric of our society and economy. Like it or not, that is the
world we live in and he has done us a disservice by his disregard
for the impact these actions have and will have on others.

Remember that young girl who was almost court martialed but was
kicked out of the Air Force for having an affair then lying about
it. A general was cheated out of becoming Chairman of the JCS
because of an affair he had five years back. I like Bill but
I believe in fairness. Big or small we should all have to
play by the rules. If he were in uniform he'd be subject to
court martial. As commander in chief he should be impeached for
this misconduct. There I've said it. If he was stupid enough
to do this then let em suffer the consequences.

My last comment on the subject. Back to THQ matters.

Kevin

**Off Topic**

I think the adage says "Never speak about religion and politics." Two subjects that can cause heated debates. This is my first and last comment on the "Clinton Issue."

>> He may be forced to resign or be impeached. But I think the chances of any near term impeachment are still low that is all.<<

Actually the near term impeachment is very real. They do have enough on Clinton for impeachment. Whether or not he'll resign after impeachment is anyone's guess. Only one president has ever been impeached but a senate vote was not sufficient to remove him from office (Johnson).

As explained in the Constitution, Impeachment can only be brought about when a government high official has committed "treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors." Any of those sound like Clinton??

The very act of adultery is not something that's serious enough for any type of impeachment. It may be an aspect which speaks of his moral and ethical values. But nothing to sweat about.

However, perjury, or lying while under oath, is sufficient grounds for impeachment (reasoning being: if he lied this time under oath, what *other* things has he lied about.)

To Clinton, he did not lie. What he did with Lewinsky, he does not consider adultery. But transgressing these type of bounds is ridiculous. Where will we draw the line? The worst outcome I can think of is Clinton being acquitted of all charges. Suddenly it's "okay" to do certain things and still not consider them adultery.

If it comes to Clinton resigning and Gore taking over with a pardon, I think we'll have to make some type of law barring it further. It's like it's "okay" to commit certain crimes and then resign with a promise of a pardon. I don't remember who mentioned it, but he was right on with the fact that had Clinton been an officer in the armed forces or other high ranking position, he'd be gone by now (or under some type of probation).

The Senate must vote on whether Clinton should stay in office or not if impeachment does come. A Senate predominately Republican..... On the other hand, I don't want Gore in Office and neither does Wall Street.

Conservatively Yours,
Raymond J. Norris
