The irony is that they try to portray Trump’s base as a cult.

You mentioned alinsky and that is a tactic. Accuse your opposition of your own crimes.

I don't disagree that it seems cultist but I think they understand herd / mob mentality. D's tend to think more "with feeling" and the tactic uses emotion entrap.

I'd also point out the the MSM is their biggest ally in all of this and they are expert at manipulation.

And it’s a waste of time to try and convince cult followers to snap out of it.

IT takes a catharsis - a life changing event to snap them out of it. It takes people like Kanye and Candace who reach out to people who respect them. I met a lady who turned Conservative because of the importation of the Somalian Muslims. If you look at the dims as a whole, they are a loose coalition of special interest groups, haters, victims and bleeding hearts. More often than not these groups are at odds with each other. Therein lies their major weakness. Sanctuary cities make life unsafe, globalism exports jobs, illegal immigration hurts the poor. Slack law enforcement hurts the law-abiding...

These all become wedge issues that can be exploited.
