Earlie; They are getting shelf space, it's assembeled in Ca
or most of it is, but I don't think it's publicly traded.
It might be funded by the Koreas, and acting like a parts
outlet for their boards and stuff.
When I first built boxes
I was taught by Taiwanese..they had small back door shops all over
SW Houston, they built clones, most funding and parts came from
Taiwan it was their way of getting market. Had it not been for
them early on prices would still be out of sight. I mention
CTX as this looks like a major play by the Koreans but I have
no real inside info. just adding 2+2 via my old box building
experance. I could not really compeat with them, as they had
cheap labor too..but I was 50 south of their shops and they
had no problem with teaching me how and selling me the parts,
in one way it would have been cheaper to "job" the assembly
work out to them, but being I had to service the stuff I had to
get into it to know how. Were as if I jobed it out I would not
have got what it took to service them. They are down in my area
now with a nice shop, no way I want to compeat. I do a little
end user support work from time to time, but stocking parts that
drop in price before you can wipe your butt is not for me,
I got burned doing that towards the end and do not hesitate
to "job" out any order I get nowdays just to avoid having
inventory..it's easy to lose a bundle of money just stocking
memory..they have price guarantees from their suppliers
that do not extend to me.

Earlie, I have seen CTX computers at Office Max for several years. Next time I am there I will get some prices and specs. I know someone who bought a 75 mHz CTX two? years ago he has had no problems or complaints. Mike
