I wanted to expand on the channel check I performed yesterday at Egghead. I took a pad and pencil and jotted down the visible inventory of drives from Iomega, SyQuest, Imation and Avatar. Here are the results:

Iomega:

Zip+ = 40 drives
Zip PP = 25 drives
Zip SCSI = 16 drives
Jaz Ext = 7 drives
Jaz Int = 5 drives
Jaz Ext (remanufactured) = 5 drives
Jaz Int (rem) = 3 drives
Ditto Max Pro Internal = 7 drives
Ditto Max = 6 drives

Syquest:

Sparq = 1 drive
Syjet = 5 drives
EZ Flyer = 3 drives

Imation:

Superdisk = 4 drives

Avatar:

Shark PP = 5 drives
Shark PC = 4 drives

On a side note, the remanufactured Jaz drives were packaged in black and white boxes by Iomega, not taped up, returned boxes. Prices were 249 for the Internal Jaz and 279 for the external Jaz.
