Coyoti,

I have never split my trading money up as I have found daytrading to be the highest possible percentage return per year. I always think in terms of shares per transaction and I eliminate as much risk as possible which my methods have done for me over the years quite nicely.

I suggest you start trading 500 shares per trade until you begin to be successful then increase them as you learn the risk/reward ratio with EVERY trade.

I think $30K would allow you 1K shares of a 60 dollar stock on margin and I would never max out my portfolio fully on margin unless I were in a very high percentage trade for a short period of time.

I have a friend who computes a percentage of his portfolio per trade and trys to not max out his margin account. Each trader must find his comfort zone.

Good Luck....Ken
