2/21/2020 Contest update (Contest YTD is calculated from 1/3/2020 close.) Biotechs held up better than other sectors as COVID-19's spread continued to spook investors. At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 8.39% YTD (vs. up 6.57% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI) was up 4.02% YTD (vs. up 3.44% YTD a week ago), the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI) was up 4.15% YTD (vs. up 3.93% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI), was up 6.16% YTD (vs. up 7.88% YTD a week ago). A 20% allocation to the still energized TRIL boosted JBOG’s portfolio back into the Contest lead with 59.39% YTD gain. Helped by CFRX and SNGX, BULBA’s portfolio, up 52.00% YTD, jumped into second place while FILO’s portfolio, up 49.74% YTD, fell to third place. At Friday's close, 37 of the 42 Contest portfolios were in the green, with 28 beating the NBI and the same 28 beating the SPSIBI. The 197 Contest stock picks have an average YTD gain of 11.90% and a median YTD gain of 3.96%. Below is the Top Ten list.
