I was thinking about my next dog...likely this summer. Longevity is of course not the only criteria; personality and availability trump that. I am leaning towards Standard Schnauzer, which was originally missing from the list but I have now added it in (typical lifespan 12 - 16). But a cross between your favorite breed and any dog on that list will likely make you happy. All things equal, I'd favor a cross between one of my favorites (Doberman, Rottie, GSD, Belgian Shepherd) and a Poodle or Thai Ridgeback. The latter is obviously very hard to come by. Side note: That list errs on the low side. I've since found out that many sites list higher life expectancy for some of the dogs. That said, we are talking about average minimum and average maximum, not the absolute longest lifespan. My focus is health.
