I was thinking about my next dog...likely this summer. Longevity is of course not the only criteria; personality and availability trump that. I am leaning towards Standard Schnauzer, which was originally missing from the list but I have now added it in (typical lifespan 12 - 16). But a cross between your favorite breed and any dog on that list will likely make you happy. All things equal, I'd favor a cross between one of my favorites (Doberman, Rottie, GSD, Belgian Shepherd) and a Poodle or Thai Ridgeback. The latter is obviously very hard to come by.

Side note: That list errs on the low side. I've since found out that many sites list higher life expectancy for some of the dogs. That said, we are talking about *average* minimum and *average* maximum, not the absolute longest lifespan. My focus is health.
