If I misunderstood you, then just what was your point?

My point is that either of the two scenarios are bad for shorters.

If AMZN is "close", but "not there yet", then just what is the point where you would consider shorting it?

I was ready to short on a run-up on earnings announcement. Runup that I was sure it would occur, but didn't (I had even freed up the money to short this thing)....
