The NY Times has an article about what happened when Nixon resigned. From '73 to late '74 the market dropped 45%. If Clinton goes down because of this bullshit scandal, and Gore becomes president, expect a good drop in the market. CPQ included. Instability does not make for good bull markets. We forget that George Washington slept with his slaves. Think that was consentual sex? I believe that a little personal privacy is due Clinton. I think it's more than 50% of the married people in this country have sex outside their marriage at least once. Has that caused our society to fail? In my view, this great nation is sexually more conservative than almost all other countries excluding Iran and some other Moslem dictatorships. The press is hard up for news and, IMHO way out of bounds. There are a lot of far more important things going on (remember asia?) This whole stupid thing might end up contributing to a huge financial disaster for all of us in the market.
