Wharfie,
I also know most of America won't go for a socialist who wants to let the marathon bomber vote from his jail cell.
That depends on what your definition of "most of America" is.

Most of America live in or near cities. These are the Americans who voted for socialists like Bill de Blasio, Kshama Sawant, Gavin Newsom, and even Alexandria Occasional-Cortex.

Also, the youth of America no longer views socialism as a bad thing. That's thanks to the enormous success of liberal indoctrination centers, a.k.a. public schools and higher education.

Furthermore, if Bernie loses the nomination, many people on the left will view that as a betrayal and will not vote for the Democratic nominee. You would be wise not to underestimate their influence.

Like it or not, your best chance against Trump is Bernie. If that means having to hold your nose and vote for the lesser of two evils, then you're gonna have to do it.

(Or you could be like me and not choose at all, but hey, that demands a level of intellectual integrity that I really doubt you possess ...)
