Thomas,
There are way too many cellular providers here and my take on it is that they all got their franchises through political connections. One thing I have noticed is that the phone you buy determines the service you get. The phones are expensive but the service itself is relatively cheap. Its just the opposite of the system in the U.S. wjere they give away cellular phones and charge an arm and a leg for a call.

The story from the hotel manager is several months old so occupancy rates would have been before July. It was during the local Amer. Chamber of Commerce Ambassador's Cup golf tourney. I would guess occupancy is down since flights on MAS have dwindled but its only a guess.

Best,
Stitch
