Jacob, I was cleaning out my saved files and found your 12/13/97
post about the "shape of the bottom", which I kept. It still sounds plausible, while some of the replies don't. But my hindsight is

Thanks for reminding me of the "20 minus inflation equation". That's a good one.

We already know what I think about '98 and my crystal ball can't see '99 very well yet -g-. AMAT's EPS for '98 could end up being $1.80, wouldn't surprise me at all. Then $2.20 for '99 begins to look better. My concern continues to be that expectations for '98 are too high.
