Austin is a very fun city. I lived there for many years, right at the beginning of it's growth phase into a tech center. However, keep in mind that Austin is a very blue city in a sea of red, and as we know, Texas is a red state. I have friends and family that live in Austin to this day and they are telling me that Austin is turning into a shithole like San Francisco and other blue state cities. They have a massive homeless problem as well, especially because it's a fairly warm city, and the blue city leaders are implementing all the same progressive policies that have destroyed cities like San Francisco. I think Austin is in the earlier stages of this phenomenon and still has a ways to go, but Democrats have an incredible ability to destroy whatever they touch. So the transformation of Austin into San Francisco could happen quicker than you think. So yes, it's great moving to a red state, but it's only great while the cities have red leaders. When those leaders turn blue, then they start to destroy it just like they did California.
