Here is Pristine's Small Cap Review from last week.
There day trading newsletter has a pretty extensive subscription base,
so when they mention a stock there is usually a noticable spike in volume at open.
I'm not sure what the circulation is on the Small Cap Review, but it can't hurt.

PRISTINE'S SMALL CAP REVIEW - 1/23/98

AUTOMOBILE PROTECTION CORP (APCO - $7.00)

The Automobile Protection Agency (APCO) markets and administers
extended vehicle service contracts. The company along with its
subsidiary, The Aegis Group, Inc., also supplies and administers
other products and services to automobile dealers, distributors and
financial institutions.

We have been watching APCO with great interest recently, waiting
patiently to find a good buying opportunity. The time is now right.
APCO is on its first pullback after recently making an all-time new
high on strong volume.

Buy APCO once it trades above the prior day's high provided it does
not go below $6 1/8 first. This is valid over the next week. Once in,
place a stop at $5.50. We will add to all portfolios. Please note:
earnings are due on 1/29 and are estimated to increase 800%, up
from an 83% increase in the prior quarter.

SCR'S STOCK NOTES

After some nice progress to the upside, the stock market was again
felled by earnings and Asian financial problems. This is far from
surprising given the anticipation that a roller-coaster ride was in-store
for us over the foreseeable future. The overall market declined and
was particularly hard hit by a downturn in the oil stocks, as we had
anticipated last week would likely occur in the very near future.
Fortunately, one of last week's recommended short trading picks in
the oil sector is still in play and should benefit nicely over the next
few days. So, what's in store for the foreseeable future? No doubt
more of the same, especially since we are still in the midst of
earnings season. In the meantime, expect more "surprises" along
with a healthy dose of volatility over the next several days. We
advise proceeding cautiously and adhering to all stops.

HMX has been moved to the SCR's Closed Positions section and we
are using our available cash to buy this week's featured stock
(APCO) in all three model portfolios. In the portfolios, we have raised
the stop on EPIQ to help protect the 27% gains we have made over
the last two months. All remaining portfolio positions are rated "hold"
and their stops are unchanged.

In our SCR's Featured Stocks (see table), we have raised the stops
on TWMC, EPIQ, DHOM, ICOS and APSG to help protect profits.

>From last week's SCR Stock Watch List, DIVE (a short play) was
triggered on 1/16. It has been moving sideways over the last few
days and looks ready to roll to the downside. Updated instructions
are provided below. GLBL, our other short, did not meet our entry
criteria and was an invalid trade. Two new trading plays have been
added to this week's SCR Stock Watch List - - Micron Electronics
(MUEI) and Zenith (ZE). Detailed buy and sell instructions are
provided below.

Note: The Stock Watch List and Portfolio are oriented to more
intermediate-term plays (2 to 8 weeks). In comparison, the Weekly
Featured Stock and the model portfolio positions are longer-term
investments that are typically held for up to 12 months.

APCO EARNINGS INFORMATION....

I spoke with Todd at the company today. He said that earnings would be out by the middle of next week at the latest unless something unexpected happened.

He told me that they are still working on several things with a couple getting close. I told him to release one just before or after earnings so people wouldn't sell on the earnings news( hey never hurts to try).
Unfortunately, I don't think that will be the case. Todd didn't give me a time frame. Hopefully it will be very soon. Everything is going great at the company and they are excited about the opportunities for the company and increased shareholder value in 1998.
