Bob, the Barron's article mentioned some well known names as having little chance of survival if gold stays down: Echo Bay, Royal Oak, Coeur d'Alene, Amax, Newmont & even Homestake. These carry too much debt.

Of course, wouldn't it be great if IPM, MGAU and MXAM were left to supply all the demand with low cost extraction technology? I can dream, anyway.
