and just to caveat everything. There are significant uncertainties around all of the numbers right now. Perhaps there are a million plus cases world and the death rate really is similar to the flu and we will discover that to be true in a year.

However, the numbers don't support that right now.

The range of outcomes right now seems to be skewed to worse than the flu. We'll know more over time but the market is always going to react negatively to the uncertainty and nobody with an ounce of experience in the markets should be surprised by that.
