It was the large bank stocks which took down the indexes 15%.
The call should be on the large banks.

Since you like to interpret candlesticks, what do we have working on the S&P 500 as a result of Thursday, Friday, and Monday Monday's action?

It's a Bullish Island Reversal! One of the most bullish developments in all of the kingdom of Candledom.

Two gaps of roughly equal distance above the Friday action followed by Monday Monday's move back above the 200 day moving average.

Wow. It doesn't get any more super candlelistic than that. :)
