My Mom wasn't feeling well, so I called the doc's office in February (years ago) where I go regularly. Dingbat said sure, we can see your Mom. "Who's her insurance with?" I said Medicare, dingbat said "oh, I see we have an opening in April...."

I no longer go there and I told them why in writing. Never heard back.....too much money for many of them to care about people...

With a doctor's office, I've found the way around instead of asking for an appt, ask to speak with the doctor (usually will call back), explain the issue and the doctor will often override the front desk.

(I go to a family clinic now where several docs on the staff are related, they bent over backwards to help my Mom before she passed)

Of course if you find a place like that, you're gold!
