An Nvidia Shield is like a ROKU. When I get a movie over the internet, I use that instead of the smart tv as the source. The stream then goes through my receiver which is a Yamaha which feeds the speakers and the TV. If i use the Smart TV as the front end, I won't get the Dolby 7.1 surround sound. Honestly, I like the surround sound a lot more than the 4K TV but that way I get both.
