Glen,
The last time S&P futures were down just 700 the dow dropped over 100 points the next day.A just as important indicator is the currencies. All major currencies UP against the dollar. So much for the flight to safety in the dollar. With Clinton(if he's out there is strong talk in congrss of no more IMF money for indonesia), Sadam, gold rising, etc....the market is headed down tomorrow.S&P at -870 right now which is 1.7 more down than referenced above. When foreigners have dollar denominated stocks and the dollar and DOW are dropping it doesn't take rocket science to figure the investor looses both ways.If the trend continues it will become a huge sell off as investors flee back to more reasonably valued foreign markets.Just look what happened to the Asian markets...when their currencies began to sink against ours then our bull raged and the bear came home to them.It can easily reverse. If you own a US Bond(5.75%/year?) and the dollar loses 6% against your currency in a few weeks(!) then why hold the bond, stock, etc.

Lot's to think about as the pendulum begins to swing the other way.Do traders care about Denver?Apparently so.Do they cbelieve oil prices effect drillers?Apparently so.
