Hi all,

Can someone on this thread help me out. I've been fumbling around for almost two weeks with Quotes + and Metastock without success. Can someone help me seting up historical files and then updating them. I would also like help transfering the data to Metastock. I've only been able to partially transfere data. I think its a file naming problem???? You can email me at theoiii@ibm.net. TIA

Theo

-- and all charts will be rendered obsolete.

Never! TA is still an art, not an exact science. That's why people may still lose money even though they, have read a bunch of books, ran a bunch of scans and done a bit of back testing. The market is also not a constant, it is continually changing. Thats why "systems" that work for a while, stop working. Professionals run their big computers to try to identify the current fads and capitalize on them. We can usually only back test a few things at a time. I don't think looking at the chart will never be obsolete, that is the "art" part of TA.

Until that day,we'll have to use ....... graph paper.

Hey! Good idea! We could hand plot the chart and then use something like Seans "Ski Weekend" camera to get it on the webb! Could you start with stocks # 1 through 250?

As Richard and Andy said, you can't plot all the formulas. You would think that you could -- after all, a good plot needs a beginning and an end, a love story, good characters, character development, etc., and within each one of our scans you'll find all of these things. But you'll have to rely on another program for custom indicators, at least for now. The scans provide an excellent means for filtering stocks, though. One day, an analyst will happen upon the Holy Grail of scans -- one is searching deep within the Black Forest at this very moment -- and all charts will be rendered obsolete. Until that day, we'll have to use Metastock, Wow, Advanced Get, SuperCharts or graph paper.
