OtherChap...I don't know if you read that Eyeballs Article I posted on the search engines earlier...but these 2 paragraphs summarized the differences...between the 4 as they saw it.

Original content was unsuccessful. Co-branded content has worked out better, but has had uneven success: Infoseek dropped a program to feature exclusive content from partners, but other engines are comfortable with their strategies to provide special content as a preferred choice in search results, and to create content areas called "channels" on which they collect ad revenues.

Excite, Yahoo, and Lycos offer free e-mail to create affinity bonds with users. Yahoo offers users the ability to create their own Web pages, and all the engines have personalization capabilities so that users may develop start pages on which content filtered for their interests appears.

........has Infoseek dropped a program to feature exclusive content?

Maybe that's why we are not seeing an Intuit type deal? If so how do they get their content? Pay for it?

>>>and a company PR department that has issued ONE press

this stock is just going to keep drifting down.

You said it so I had to look...and you're right...from November 12, 1997 to January 14, 1998...ONE press release outside of earnings.

Historical..............Speaks for itself.

with nothing to look forward to until next earnings,
and a company PR department that has issued ONE press
release in two months (not counting the earnings release itself)
this stock is just going to keep drifting down.

IMO it would have been much worse if they had issued a ton of releases hyping the crap out of the stock and sending it into the teens. It would surely have come crashing down to where it is now. It would have been nice to see some more press but what press could they have released a month or more ago that would have any real effect on the stock today? The press they released during last quarter is not what we should be concerned about now. What's gonna happen this quarter? This year? Next year?......
