Dennis...the Wal-Mart clerks at two stores here (St. Pete) tell me they're getting customers who come back to buy Lunker and or Deep Sea, and say those customers think it's a better game than Bass. In these two stores, Bass still moves quicker...it's $7 cheaper, but again, these clerks tell me they've sold about 150 fishing games since
Christmas. When I checked last Friday, Bass was gone in both stores, Lunker and Deep Sea were still left...Jr. Bass had two pegs..one game.

I've had four "reporters" from other areas....still sketchy of course. Jr. Bass is in the stores, appears to be selling well. Hard to tell what's happening from these first reports...follow-up will help, plus more areas. So far, we've got St. Pete, LA, Dayton, Canton and SF Bay. Thanks to Kevin, Jay, Steve and Rex.

If you want to report, tell me the Pegs by product, and the count remaining on each peg. See if you can get the clerk to tell you how many they last got and when, and when they next expect a resupply. Looks to me like Jr. Bass will do very well. Chaz.

Dennis,
Thanks for the correction on the number of fishing units sold. Thought I had heard 4 million somewhere.

I think we will see closer to the 8 million then 6 in 98' and though I agree 10 may be a streach, it is still possible. Consider just a 50% increase in manufacturing and if Original and Lunker together, equals the same % of sales in 98 as just Original Bass did in 97' (conservative I think). The 3.5 million is 5.25 in 98'. Now if the other two games, Deep Sea and Junior together are 1/2 as many sales as Lunker and Original we reach about 7.9 million.

This is on a 50% increase in revenues. Consider that Q1 98' looks to have ran at about 2,200 est. vs. about 950 workers (give or take) in Q1 97'. I do not have the unit/wk numbers for 97' to use aginst an estimated 300,000 units/week Q1 98'. So 10 million could/maybe happen.

Would also like to clarify something that I said earlier. OEM was 24.1 vs. 18.6% of sales 96' vs. 97'. This is sales not revenue. Even though this is the casefor units sold, OEM sales were still up 40% as a dollar amount over 1996. Some great implications on the subject, IMO.

Wish I could help with posting a table here. Would love to see your numbers. Can you cut and paste it from the word processor?

Thanks,
Wayne
