I think your $200-250 figure is a good one for a five year time frame

In 2000 MSFT should be at a minimum back at the $140 level as I expect that revenues would at a minimum have doubled by then if not sooner.
This is based on growth in the enterprise\server market due to NT 5.0, Wolfpack and Back Office alone with penetration going from 5% to 20%. This is very doable and doesn't even include Win 98, Office 99, expanding sales of Win CE (for set top boxes, palmtops, communication devices and such) or continued expansion of NT into the workstation market. Plus all the other things that MSFT is getting into. Thus to go from the $140 level to $200-250 level between 2000 and 2003 is once again, a distinct possibility as a lower to lower-middle bound in my estimation.

Overall, even though many analysts say MSFT growth will not keep up with the previous rates, I think that 1999-2005 may very well prove to be six of the most exciting and profitable years\period in the history of this great company.

Stay Long,
Regards - Brian

I think MSFT will easily grow at 25% APR. Therefore, if the stock does the same, 5 years from now the stock will be at the equivalent of $400 per share give or take a dollar.

Of course, predicting stock price in 5 years is one question...
At current price, factor the 2/1 stock split for 2/98;
factor in another 2/1 stock split in 2000 and 2002. Factor in a market panic in 2002; factor in a continuous P/E of 40 to 50; and think about Microsoft being the equivalent of IBM in 5 years.
Is Microsoft a great investment? Yes.
