Western Digital taps Cisco vet as CEO Mar. 5, 2020 4:33 PM ET\|About: Western Digital Corporation (WDC)\|By: Brandy Betz, SA News Editor Western Digital (NASDAQ: WDC) taps David Goeckeler as the new CEO and board member, effective March 9. Goeckeler, who is replacing the retiring Steve Milligan, joins from his role as executive VP and GM of Cisco's Networking and Security business. Milligan will remain on in an advisory role until September to help with the transition.
