I think you are the BSer. Here is the Trump quote:

“If we have thousands or hundreds of thousands of people that get better, just by, you know, sitting around and even going to work, some of them go to work, but they get better,"

Yeah, sure, he doesn't say "active case", so perhaps you are just trying to be disingenuous, I really don't care. The fact remains that there is no way to interpret the above as anything other than being dismissive of the risk of spreading the virus.

And yes, Trump did also claim that CV-19 was a hoax of the Democrats. Google is your friend.

That's because Trump never said it. I saw the interview that I believe neolib is parroting the democrat talking points about.

In summary, he said that many of the cases are only mild symptoms (think common cold), which resolve quickly. In light of this, it is very likely that many people don't seek diagnosis or treatment (regardless of whether you live under socialized medicine or not) and just go about their daily routines, including work. As a result, the fatality rate of the virus is likely much lower than the reported rate due to the under-reporting of infection rates. Just like the flu, the highest fatality rate is among those with compromised immune systems: the very young, the old and the infirm (primarily preexisting pulmonary conditions).

All of which seems to me a very rational, common sense understanding of the situation. Not that many of the "news sources" would bother trying to report an accurate representation of it.
