I think you are missing the point. The issue is whether this is much more fatal than the flu. The same issue applies to the regular flu, there are likely way more people who have very mild cases of it as well, including many who likely don't even consider themselves sick, but they might still be contagious. So while Trump (and pretty much everyone else including WHO and all other medical establishments) are well aware that more people are infected than get reported, that is irrelevant.

If you want to claim this less than 1% fatal, then perhaps the flu is only 0.005% fatal.

But the point remains, that Trump is not providing any helpful leadership on containing the spread. If you think he is, why not point out the specifics. As I've pointed out, what he is doing is likely to increase the spread, not decrease it. You referred to the President having a responsibility to "balance" things. How have his stupid comments "balanced" anything, or done anything to help contain the spread. Do you really think his comments and leadership have done anything constructive to contain the spread?

I think he has done some very dangerous things that increase the rate of spread, namely his asininely stupid use of the word hoax as well as the recent comment about working while infected. Wailing that if you look at the comments from just the right angle and have proclivities to for give Trump for being Trump is not an excuse.
