My mom was much happier in one than in her own condo. She loved to socialize, and those places are nothing if not social. She even had a couple of male supplicants!

That's the promise. However, I'm not eager to leave the town in which I'm living now. Been here for over 40 years and been quite active. It's just time, however.

I think the best feature of some of these retirement communities, like the one I'm in, is the in house medical department where you can get an appointment a lot quicker than if you were on the outside.

Also EMT's are on duty 24/7 and respond within minutes if you have to pull the emergency cord in your apartment.

Just be aware that it's "institutional food" for your dining pleasure.
