Even if the COVID-19 death rate is as low as 0.1-1.0%, as estimated in the tweet FUBHO shared, the upper range of that is a magnitude more deadly than flu.

My guess is it is in that range.........hopefully nearer the low end..........but still quite a bit more deadly than the flu.................all this data will become available in time.

There is a general claim that viral diseases that hang around for a long time evolve towards being less lethal. But whether that applies at 1% I don't know.
