US FLU DEATHS HIT 20,000 UPDATE: Influenza Deaths Now Total 20,000 The number of people who have died from seasonal influenza so far has now reached 20,000, including 136 influenza-associated deaths in children, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported as of February 29.
