Impossible Foods has secured another $500 million in funding, bringing its total haul to a whopping $1.284 billion. The Silicon Valley-based maker of plant-based meat and pork said the round is led by new investor Mirae Asset Global Investments, along with existing investors Khosla Ventures, Horizons Ventures, and Temasek Holdings. The funds will be used "to weather the current macroeconomic volatility related to COVID-19; invest in fundamental research and innovation; accelerate manufacturing scaleup; expand retail presence and availability in key international markets; and accelerate commercialization of next-generation products," Impossible said in a statement (https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20200316005301/en/Impossible-Foods-Confirms-Approximately-500-Million-New)Monday.
