It is true that there is a strong correlation between NFL wins and up markets, vs AFL wins and downmarket. However, this does not indicate a cause and affect. The fact is that the the old NFL wins most of the time and the market is up most of the time. Makes sense without the black magic.

Indonesia in the news... not too good!

''Standard and Poor's today lowered its long-term foreign currency rating on Republic of Indonesia to single-B from double-B and its local currency rating to double-B minus from triple-B.

The downgrades are based on Indonesia's deepening financial crisis and diminished external payments flexibility as evidenced by the government's suspension of foreign currency debt servicing by trouble corporates.

JAKARTA, Jan 27 (Reuters) - Indonesia's announcement on Tuesday of a
temporary freeze on servicing its mountain of corporate debt only formalised what companies had already been doing, economic analysts said.

''Technically, a number of companies were involved in a debt moratorium anyway, given they'd ceased servicing their debt,'' said Callum Henderson, managing analyst at MMS International in Hong Kong.
