Would have to retract about DELL, they may not have the money to start bidding with Compaq. Pre market openning activity (6.05 am Pacific): DEC at 56 7/8. DEC should be valued more than 10B to me. Their business is now turned around. Why do Palmer sell CO. for this cheap. DEC can get to $60 by itself. There is only a $10 premium that CPQ has to spend to buy DEC. This is really cheap, but I can not think of another box-maker company that would have the cash and the synergy to merge with DEC at this point. Can anyone suggest another?

Hi William: So from what I gather Dec will recieve $30 for every share held plus almost 1 share of CPQ. With compact going down will this be a good deal? Down 2 today. Maybe it will be like IBM and Lotus when they merged. The street punished IBM in the beginning.....and now love it. Don't you feel Dell is over for a play. Too high but I have been saying that forever it seems. Missed that great stock. Darn. As my father says "can't kiss all the girls". A little advice for Bill Bobba Marcie
