Now that Compaq has bought Digital, I believe SUN will have to put
up with a stronger competition on the server side. I think Compaq is
going to benefit a lot from Digital's experience in Unix and high
end systems to put together their scalable NT system. Given that
DEC had committed to having stronger ties with NT, I wonder if they
were developing scalable Alpha servers running NT. Even though NT
is not supposed to be close to the performance of Solaris on multi-
processor machines anytime within the next two years, I wonder how
SUN is going to fight this encroachment in the server space. I think
for SUN to succeed (meaning sustaining the high growth rate) their
network computing strategy has to succeed very soon?

Babu

P.S: As an investment opinion, it might be good to load some
Compaq (well JMHO)
