Looks like my buy of Tandem has landed me in a humongous company
(second biggest IT firm after IBM). DEC doesn't have hardware
or networks anymore. All they have is a service staff,
And IBM's service division is making big money.

But ... here's the clincher, which few people have realized: DEC had a deal
with Intel by which in return for Alpha, they would get Intel chips on the
cheap for a few years. Does that deal hold for Compaq also? If it does, then
Compaq will drive everybody else out of the PC market. Wondering if it does
(hoping too!).
