Gosh - Ed is so much smarter than the rest of us. Imagine that, doubling your money overnight with a 2 for 1 stock split.

Ed, you spewed:

<<MSFT announces 2 for 1 stock split! Ha, gotta love it! Nothing like investing in a REAL company!>>

Comparing MSFT to ANCR is OBVIOUSLY apples and oranges. It is not either/or. Stocks like MSFT/INTC are core holdings but I did my buying years ago and I choose to sit on the profits as opposed to buying more or selling. Some of my neighbors are enjoying the fruits of their MSFT stock options and I often see them enjoying their half court courtside seats at Sonics games ( I guess it pays to be on the original NT development team, even though it meant taking abuse at Cutler's boot camp ) .

For the young-middle aged person ( 30-55 ) who has sufficient capital outside of 401K/IRA plans, 50% blue chip/large cap, 20% small/speculative situation, 20% cash/money market, 10% bonds is not a bad portfolio in this late stage bull market. Just my opinion. Not wise advice like yours.
