Hi Nya, thanks for your reply. As far as I know, I believe the major part of Burry's pessimistic view on passive index funds is that (from what I know) he believes that liquidity would be of a concern in case of a major panic. It seems logical to me that these instruments have lead to price distortions and that an eventual crash could cause, as he has put it, a "selling stampede", even for those passive investors. I'm not really seeing this so far in the corona crash, but that may just mean that it's around the corner.

P. S. I'm not a passive investor so I have no problem selecting securities that I believe will offer good returns and hedge against downside.
