SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 26, 1998--Diamond MultimediaSystems Inc. (NASDAQ:DIMD), a leader in the interactive multimedia acceleration market, today announced the addition of Dell Computer Corp. (NASDAQ:DELL) to its growing list of tier one OEM customers. Dell has chosen the Diamond Permedia 2 8MB 3D AGP video card (an OEM version of the Diamond Fire GL 1000 Pro AGP accelerator) for several of its Dimension desktop PCs for small business users and consumers. The new Dell Dimension XPS D333 based on Intel's 333MHz Pentium II processor, also announced today, features the Diamond Permedia 2 8MB 3D AGP video card as its high-end graphics solution. Additionally, the product will be offered an an option for Dell's Dimension XPS 300, 266 and 233 personal computers. "We have recognized the unique needs and requirements of the top OEM accounts," said Scott Holt, senior vice president of worldwide sales at Diamond Multimedia. "We have focused our efforts on providing the level of support required to win their business and build lasting relationships. Our new partnership with Dell, the world's leading direct systems company, is a direct result of these efforts."
