Here is yet another fact. I fly all the time on business and people say to me, "aren't you afraid that the law of averages are gonna catch up to you and that you will be in a plane crash"? I say,you know what,I risk my life just driving on the NJ Turnpike driving to the airport. 18 wheel trucks and idiot reckless drivers all over the road,or maybe I get a blow-out and become a pancake for those truck drivers." So there you go,flying is the safest way to travel. :)

Yes, probability doesn't work like that.

Yes, you risk your life more on the NJ Turnpike than flying.

In fact, I'd rather face one of Boston's famous 6 way intersections
with each road having a stop sign
and all 5 of the other drivers are grumpy

than to drive NJ turnpike anywhere near NYC!

(Yes, I've been in both situations many times, although I don't remember how many grumpy drivers there were when I was in Boston -
and exactly how many roads intersection 'cause when you're thrown in a den of hungry lions you usually don't stop to count the lions :-) )
