We tried an hydrogen assist on one of our low beds back around 98 or 2000. The hydrogen converter about 2 feet square which was bolted to the side of the frame behind the drivers cab separated the hydrogen from pure water. Electricity from a 175 amp alternator ran the system which turned H2O into separate gasses. then injected small amounts into the engine subsidizing the diesel injection system. It seemed to offer a bit cleaner burn and possible slight increase in power. But cost wise was not efficient as it had to be constantly serviced and maintained by high cost specialists. After around six months it was dismounted and left to die.

Hydrogen power today is much more advanced. California is one of the States which is encouraging development. Most big trucks manufactured for north american use now have to meet California standards which were previously higher than other parts of the continent. Today all parts in both US and Canada have matched the emission standards for heavy trucks set by California.

Below is a You Tube of a long beach company switching to Hydrogen vehicles. 0 emissions Hydrogen power is much closer than most realize. Lots of other info out there about it on various sites. In trying to find the company who produced the unit we tried. I had no idea Hydrogen technology had advanced so far.
Thanks for tweaking my interest to look.
