Not surprised. Epidemiologists do this in the classroom, and sometimes they’ll run an event like this. It’s their equivalent of large scale war games by the military.

As far as Coronavirus... this family of viruses has been long suspected that the next dangerous infection may come from among them.

In their exercise, the end was sad. The good guys lost. (Sorry, but can’t help thinking that their purpose was not to calm people down, but to warn - and maybe attract more funding. But - we'll give them the benefit of the doubt).

Hopefully, this real life situation will resolve better. Looks like new cases slowed down in China, Japan, So Korea, some other places. That’s encouraging. One big question is - at what cost were they able to do this, and for how long can they keep it up.
