Locogringo,
What you see is socialism at work. We are Venezuela now.
That reminds me of the government's moves to prevent "price-gouging" in this crisis. We have people out there who bought up needed commodities like hand sanitizer and toilet paper and are reselling them at prices well above cost, because supply and demand.

Of course politicians out there are saying, "No no, you can't do that, that's price-gouging!" Amazon agrees, which is why they shut down these oh-so-evil resellers.

But it's regulations like these that will ensure that when the next crisis comes around, we will once again suffer a shortage of these needed commodities. It's the profit margins that encourage producers to produce an abundance of hand sanitizers and toilet paper. It's the profit margins that will make sure we have more than enough for next time. These products aren't exactly perishable, either, so I say let the hoarders hoard, and let them make a profit when demand is sky-high.

"But but that's inhumane!" So is forcing a shortage of these products upon us, all in the name of altruism.

Speaking of Amazon, they're going to hire 100,000 new workers to keep up with the huge surge in orders:

Amazon seeks to hire 100,000 to keep up with surge in orders

They're also giving existing hourly employees a temporary raise of $2/hour.

Anyone who thinks Jeff Bezos (or Jack Ma) is too rich, GFY. They are the ones who are making it possible to supply people all around the world with basic commodities during these times of crisis.

God bless the capitalists like them. Not the socialists like Bernie Sanders. Not the demented old fools like Joe "You're full of shit" Biden.
