Christine, "I PUFFED BUT I DID NOT INHALE". I expect that to be the substance of Ms. Lewinsky's testimony before the Grand Jury.

Sorry! Just a little joke! No we need to separate political from legal issues. Legally Ms. Lewinsky's testimony is not very valuable. She already submitted an affidavit in the Jones litigation saying that she had no sexual relations with Pres. Clinton. Legally for her to reverse course now essentially damages her credibility legally.

Politically it's another story- the only reason that she could want immunity before she testifies before a Grand Jury IMO is that she "misquoted herself" in the above-referenced affidavit that she submitted in the Jones litigation.

If she claims that she had some sort of relationship with the President, and backs it with a few inside facts that seriously damages him politically. It's difficult to have a Leader of the Free World whose philosophy does not involve self-discipline. "If it feels good do it" is a terrible philosophy on which to run a Nation.

Indeed how can you possibly teach discipline to children such as don't smoke dope, don't commit crimes, if your top Leader flaunts this value system? Is anything OK so long as it's done in the privacy of my own home? For e.g., can I build a gas chamber in my home and kill people I don't like, so long as it's done discreetly and in the privacy of my own home? No of course not. There are absolute moral imperatives which need to be follwed- otherwise any society breaks into chaos....

As for the President's relationship with the security services- yes the security services are charged by law to protect and enforce the value systems which we as Americans have enacted into our Constitution and laws....

Sincerely,

Doug F.
