Steve Hilbert's presentation at the New York Society of Security Analysts today was very positive. According to Mr. Hilbert the Company will easily meet or exceed analysts expectations of $3.45 per share for 1998. Thereafter, (without additional acquisitions) the Company expects annual internal growth of 15-19%.

Hilbert expects the stock to reach $60-$70 per share in 1998 and expects our P/E ratio to meet or exceed the S&P ratio.

There will be $35 million of expense reductions in 1998 and $15 in 1999 which stem from previous acquisitions. A flat yield curve won't hurt our spreads on old or new business.

The fouus is on internal growth unless a defining deal can be made.
Also, Joe Theisman will be our new spokesman. The Conseco brand name TV ads will launch on Feb 28.

Approximately 4 million shares have recently been repurchased at approx. $42-$43 per share. Performance is what counts and out best performance is in front of us said Mr. Hilbert.
