Information being available, doesn't necessarily result in others absorbing it, understanding it, making it enough a part of their view of the world that it becomes actionable ? The process of coming to grips with new information that is... disruptive of that view of the world as you would prefer it to be ? Applies in relation to the virus... and disruptive events in markets. The links I provided re markets... show guys "who got it" years back. They're sitting there calmly discussing the inevitability of the "shocking" events that are occurring around us now each day ? So, it wasn't "unknowable" this was coming ? And, its not the virus that's the driver of the circumstances that make the events inevitable ? The virus just makes the inevitability... unavoidable... in a new way. For many people, the virus helps them accept change occurring because they can "blame" the change on the virus... even though it has nothing to do with the alignments of the forces that mandate change will occur ? Helping other people around you to cope with those changes that they find disruptive, and hard to comprehend ? That is a necessary element of easing the burdens of those around you. But, in context of a game... it is instead often the objective... as you seek to induce that dysfunction in opponents thinking processes or coping skills... by giving them challenges you structure for them, that you know they're ill suited to handle... and probably won't understand. In either case, it is useful to understand how people do react when confused, frightened... and uncertain. In context of the virus... the best I've found describing those functions above, with the focus on intending to help those close to you better come to grips with the situation: Coronavirus: How To Inform Your Friends & Family Without Creating Pushback.
