It's starting to ramp up. We have local cases now...not because of increased testing, but because they are showing up at the hospitals really sick. Then they test (yep, everything you ever heard about the south is right...we are usually backwards, sigh...). I have two minds about everyone being tested. In the beginning I think testing should be done on any traveller.... whether they come to one's country by land, sea or air.... catch the diseased before they can infect others in the country. They did for air travelers here but not every one.... pretty much only those who came from China or an Asian country...and that stopped or rather slowed down the infection of Canada..... That made sense to me. Now that the disease has a STRONG foothold... I am not sure mass testing is useful. Say everyone was tested now....does that mean they won't get the disease a week from now? Or are you going to repeat these tests over and over again... I think that would be a waste of resources. I think family and friends of a person who shows the virus SHOULD be tested....this would not be a waste of money and effort as you would not be fishing for the disease, you would be following a trail of it. **************************************************************************************************************** There is one thing about Memphis that I would love is its music history. Your city spawned major figures in Rock and Roll as well as Blues. Rock and Roll : Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Booker T and the MGs (great instrumentals), Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash Blues:: BB king, James Cotton, Memphis Slim and I will throw in a real favourite of mine ... Willie Dixon born in Vicksburg but not far from Memphis. And then you have the famous Beal Street...the stuff of music legend. UE
