So far, so good. Bud is "isolating" himself at a ski cabin in the Sierras, cuz we just got snow. Herb had a scare, cuz one daughter was showing symptoms, and they couldn't get a test; no cases in the county, and wrong age group. Turned out to be RSV ; yay. He's trying to figure out a business plan to cope with this. Mary Jane is actually the one making things run, from home. They closed down the trim room; I'm not sure for how long, but there are also a few other sites still going. It's about time to plant the first crop. Agriculture is exempt from shelter in place, which is nice.

How are yours?

we're good clappy - faring better than our kidlets
in vancouver cause as we self-isolate, we can still
escape to the beach for lunch and meditation and
not run into another soul.

meanwhile, air canada has suspended flights as has pacific coastal
airlines which came into masset. so, the only way to get on and off is by
ferry. there is talk that ferry service will only be available to residents and
goods coming in.

hope you and your family are okay. has your business been effected?
what's it like where you live?

here's a parting thought for you.

love,
- rose

clappy~

all is pretty okay here at the homestead on the brook.
the pups are doing fine...
i haven't been off the property for 8 days.
just sort of hunkered down here.
don't really plan to go anywhere for awhile.
i keep this place well provisioned as it seems
we're always having multi-day power outages,
or gale force winds blowing trees down
across the roads
and other fun stuff like that....

to pass the time, i've just been putzing around outdoors,
splitting firewood and getting the garden ready
for this summer.
i'll be putting in a goodly sized vegetable garden this year.

also been making jam tracks of tunes
for a little group of friends i normally get together with
once a week to play celtic music.
that will give everyone a way to keep in practice
and learn some new tunes while so many of us
are in solitary confinement.

the only big change in my routine so far...
is not getting together to play music.
i'm mostly a stay-at-home-hermit at the best of times. :)

hope all of you are doing okay.
as they keep saying,
these are uncharted waters.
interesting times.
whodda thunk this would be
the next chapter?

good luck to all.
keep well.

We’re doing fine Clappy, but the virus has struck close to home, it took a really good guy out. Steve has run a fantastic little neighborhood market for decades, it is only a couple hundred yards from our house. A real old fashioned place where he knew everyone, he employed everyone’s teenagers, remembered everything about everyone.... always happy and friendly, a really sad loss.

He took a fall at his house last Friday, when they took an MRI to see if he broke ribs, they found virus spots on his lungs.... he wasn’t feeling ill, but was on a respirator by Sunday, and gone by Wednesday. This some serious chit.
