If masks do not work.. then Social Distancing is nonsensical... Like gloves.. which are a bit different but not in this case.. the masks cannot be reused.. folks get a mask.. and reuse it.. that defeats the purpose.. The mask if covered with virus cannot be touched on the exterior ... Same goes with gloves.. you need be VERY careful taking them off and tossing .. In retirement from software I work as a gardener in summer.. The job at times entails handling some nasty $hit... I have lots of gloves.. CAREFULLY removed if touched by any hazard and discarded.. else washed as laundry and resused... daily. Each day starts with a new pair... Added problem with gloves is you may inadvertently touch your face.. scratch your nose yada yada.. efficacy evaporates...
