Yes, it appears that there may be a Malaria treatment drug, Hydroxychloroquine, which is showing positive signs for the treatment of Covid-19.

There are two primary advantages, (1) it's been around for a long time so its composition and actions are well known, and (2) it's relatively cheap to make.
