i agree the tension builds on this stock as earnings will be announced and the stock continues to wallow around 15.

i can not imagine anyone now selling this stock so close to earnings. korea/japan markets have begun to rebound, the company has always been silent on earnings, bullish outlook for duv sector,....

i still believe it is to early to respond to earning on the 29th, the 27th, and more likely 28th and 29th is when we shall see movement up or down.

Zeev, your point is well taken, however, at the moment both longs and shorts have reasons to worry. Low trading volume and limited options activity suggest to me that everybody waits till earnings/CC before jumping into action. Also, SOX seems stuck in a limited range, which adds to uncertainty.

I keep looking for a reasonable hedge, but options premiums for CYMI are still too high for my liking. At the moment, I am inclined to do nothing at least till Jan.27 COHR report - maybe some infor about Lambda lasers qualification process will come out.

Yakov.

I find it interesting that volume is low. Usually if the news (like earnings) is going to be good, there's somebody who knows who let's the other "insiders" in on it, and volume increases. (Example - DEC has been moving up since earlier this year on higher volume. Obviously, some knew what was going on with Compaq.)
